Medical Information

A parents' guide to the most common infections

Diarrhoea and Vomiting

We follow Public Health's 'Guidance on infection control in schools and other childcare settings'. The document recommends that If your child has diarrhoea and/or vomiting illness, they should be kept away from school for 48 hours from the last episode. Across both schools, we follow this policy so that children have sufficient time to recover and bugs are not spread around.

Medication

Medicines should only be brought to school when essential; that is where it would be detrimental to a child’s health if the medicine were not administered during the school day. We are only allowed to accept medicines that have been prescribed. It is to be noted that medicines that need to be taken three times a day could be taken in the morning, after school hours and at bedtime.
