Absence from School

 

Regulations on school attendance require us to record and report any unauthorised absences so it is very important that children are punctual and attend school regularly.

Authorised absence is defined as:

1) Sickness

2) Religious observance (up to 3 days in any one school year)

 

If your child is unable to attend school please telephone the school to inform us of the reason* and send a note when your child returns. If your child is away more than two days please telephone the school again on the third day.

 

Family holidays are not to be taken during school time. Permission for absence is only granted in exceptional circumstances following consulation with the headteacher and Education Welfare Officer.

 

If you take your child out of school during term time you may be fined.
